More than 850 community members celebrated Walnut Creek’s early ranch days this past Saturday, May 17, at the Centennial Heritage Day at Borges Ranch.
Toddlers to seniors and all ages in between enjoyed pony rides, an equestrian demonstration by the Amigos de Anza Riders, farm animal demonstrations, a blacksmith demonstration, early 1900s craft activities and games, and entertainment by local musical groups and cloggers.
Highlighting the day were two performances by country singer and American Idol star Matt Rogers. Joined by two of his band members, Rogers “wowed” the crowd for nearly two hours.
Heritage Day was the second of three Signature Events planned for the Centennial.
